july 23.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I ACTUALLY MADE IT TO ONE HUNDRED. only 266 more days to go!! okay, now 100 doesn't seem like much of a milestone :-/
i wish i could lie and say i have a better picture for such a momentous day (hah), but unfortunately i think i was having a down day and didn't really feel like taking pictures. i took this one not even thinking of the photo a day project, and nearly had a panic when the next day (feeling much more chipper) i realized that i (thought) hadn't taken a photo for the day! WAAAHHH! but unfortunately, you'll have to suffer through this one. it's some unusual artwork i saw on a vehicle. we have a lot of this kind of stuff in my area. personally, not to toot my own horn or anything, but i could definitely do a better job than this guy.

day 51: foot
an update on my foot! haha. battle scars. i wanted to post one of when it first happened, but when i showed that picture to my brother, he dryheaved a bit. so...
day 46: this bridge reminds me of home
because every time i see it, just around the bend on the highway, i know that my journey is almost finished and i'm almost home.
so last friday started with a trip to the emergency room. i was going to make that my photo of the day, but after i looked at the picture again, i decided that maybe i would just show you a tame picture of a bridge. i fell down two steps. that is why i don't usually attempt to wear heels. because bad things happen to good people. the sad part is, they weren't even the dangerous stiletto heels that i envy my friends for wearing. no, they were just a pair of red, two inch slingbacks on their maiden voyage. yeah. now i shiver when i look at them. you would too.
so bridges. nice, bridges. i know bridges scare some people (like the girl i went to driver's ed with, she closed her eyes when she drove over bridges, needless to say, i thought i would never live through that car ride).

day 16: what i did today!
....... drum-roll please......
I BOUGHT A CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's right, folks. watch out because this girl's back out on the road (with a horrible anxiety of the people behind her). or, should i say, watch where YOU'RE going. don't hit me in my sweet new baby :)
but i'm so excited because today was amazing. you'd be excited and slightly (if not more) infatuated with this car if it was your's. finally, i am out of the 90's and into the 2000's.
still trying to figure out a name for it, however. someone told me once that you should name your car according to the first song you hear on the radio driving it. which is why my first car (a 1999 Nissan Altima, killed by a dodge Dakota) was named Crowe (after counting crows, still remember driving down the road to it, but spelled with an "e" because of mystery science theater. yeah, i'm kind of a nerd), and my second car (a 1999 Honda civic, killed by a dodge ram. i don't like dodges.) was called the matchbox, after that matchbox twenty song i heard the first day i had it. well, i am definitely not naming this beauty (2010 Honda civic, black!) Katy Perry, or the one that got away (because if i get hit again, i think i'll have a nervous breakdown and never drive again). so i'm still trying to figure it out.
but on the plus side, you'll probably realize you're driving behind me if you're stuck behind a young person driving like an eighty year old! i hate accidents so stinkin much.
anyways, what you've been waiting for! and probably why you've visited this blog, for the picture of the day :)

and, because i really can't help myself, i'm posting three pictures today :)

unexpected wonders
Yesterday I decided to take the morning off and sleep in. I was excited, since this meant staying in my jammies all morning and editing some engagement pictures I had taken the day before for two of my friends. Sounds like a great morning.
At 8:23, my mom came into my bedroom. Here's the conversation:
Mom: "Audrey, sorry to wake you up."
Me: GRUNT. (I hate waking up in the morning)
Mom: (continues unfazed) "Did you make a design in the driveway?"
Me: "What????"
Now I was awake. I didn't really understand what she was saying....what was I supposed to answer with? Yes, Ma, I was in the driveway at midnight making "designs", because that's what I do? Because I don't. I think I answered no, and looked at her like she was crazy.
Mom: "Well, someone drew two hearts in the driveway, and there's not any footprints or anything near them!"
NOW my curiosity was peaked. I sprang up out of bed, pulled on some jeans and grabbed my camera.
Turns out, someone just turned around in the driveway. But look at the results! They are pretty amazing!

..and now, my feet are a bit wet
I've been thinking about this shoot for about a week or so. Today, I decided, was the perfect day for it. I unscrewed my lens cap, flipped the switch to on, and thumped into...the bathroom. That's right, you heard me, it was the perfect day for a bathroom shoot. I got to stay in my jammies and everything!
This one was a little difficult. I realized, standing in the tub, that the floor was still a little wet from the last shower. And I was still wearing my fuzzy socks (if you haven't heard about my fuzzy socks, we obviously have not had a very long conversation, since they are one of my true loves in the winter months). So they got a bit damp. As I said, this shoot was a little bit difficult. I am a shorter person, so capturing the shot below involved standing on the tub's edge, which is about three inches wide, and even then, I found myself thinking, if I were only two or three inches taller. So I precariously stood on the edge on tippytoe. Which is not really a good idea for this girl. Because I fall and run into things often. So I was picturing a trip to the emergency room.
But, thankfully, I escaped unharmed and present to you, the audience, my bathroom adventures for today. Thanks for stopping by.
