Comes in Handy {2}

I have a good pic of my grampy but I wanted to wait to post it. So I decided to bore you all with my hands. Originally, I thought I would use this one:

But, even though I liked it, and, have you ever tried to get a good shot of your own hand using manual focus? I can attest that it is definitely not the easiest subject I have photographed. But, as I said, there was a but. I remembered the fan on my facebook page suggested, "different ages, professions, etc." So even though I mainly use my hands to type away at a keyboard or click a mouse or write with a pen at my profession, I decided to take a photograph of my hands in action, not at my profession, but, at {you guessed it} my hobby.

I had to use a mirror for this one, but I do pretty much love the results, even though it is by far not the best of my photographs.

Keys. They're pretty great. I mean, if you didn't have your house keys, you'd be locked out of home sweet home. If you didn't have your car keys, you wouldn't be able to get to wherever you need to go. And if you didn't have the key to your heart, you'd never be able to give it away to that special someone.

Recently I've been getting into more crafts. I've always been into them, just ask my six year old, glue-covered handed self. The one who littered the kitchen table with orange and brown construction paper bits the time she made a tree picture (I never found out where that got to, but that was one of my first creations I was really proud of). So I've decided that in addition to posting photography on the blog, I'll let you glimpse into a little more of this girl's life, starting with the biggest trend right now: do it yourself projects. Sure, I'm a little late in letting the worldwide web know about it, but I've been adding to my Pinterest board for quite a while on this subject. So, after pinning and pinning and reorganizing those pins painstakingly, but loving every minute of it, I'm going back through and trying out all those ideas! Some work, some don't. One of today's projects is the glitter key. As much as I hate those girls who must have everything perfectly girly and feminine, I do have a secret love of the sparkly stuff. So, today, I unhooked all the keys from my key ring and girl-ified them. I decided to go the lazy way and just do glittery nail polish. Probably won't stay on there very long, but I'll try it for the time being.

day 57: project...

Word of the semi-wise. DON'T EVER TRY TO GROW A BOYFRIEND.

One of my brothers went on vacation and what did he bring his only little sister back as a present but my very own "grow a boyfriend" project. The packaging reads as follows: "Grow a boyfriend If you can't get a date then grow the perfect mate! Drop me in the water for a lover that's made to order." Yeah, pretty funny, I admit it :) Now you know where I get my sense of "humor". Six big brothers, with the only boyfriend they're okay with is made to grow to six times his original size (also from the packaging).

So me and one of my sisters-in-law and my other brother decided to have a little project when they were all up a few weekends ago. We plopped the little guy in a dish of water and watched him grow!

The only problem is, my "boyfriend" had a slight growing deficiency. Namely, one of his legs was shorter than the other, and he had a club foot! And....he also looked pretty creepy!! But not as creepy as he looks now that he's shrinking back to his dehydrated glory. Every day brings a new surprise! <--that's what the packaging should really say...
