Dragons Fly?

   I know that Friday is my day to update the blog, but tomorrow is promising to be super busy, so you get to see this post a day early! Or, you could just ignore it for today and log on tomorrow and read it, that way you don't mess up your weekly routine...because I know this blog is part of your routine {wink of sarcasm}.

   The other day I took a break from working to slip out to the garden and take some shots of the soon-to-be-gone flowers. As I was snapping away at some black-eyed susans, I saw this little guy, and he behaved so well as I shot his pictures! Who knew he would become a famous dragonfly on this blog?

my semi-amazing photo project {season one: episode three}

...and quite delayed, at that! the last couple of weeks have been busy! but i promise i'll be posting more of what i've been doing in the world of photography. i'll have some great shots coming soon!

but until then, i must finish what i've started with this season. i have a few more pictures after today's episode, so bear with me:

 i actually took this one in the dark:

 couldn't decide whether i like this one:
 or its portraited cousin (yep, folks, another made up word):

my semi-amazing photo project {season 1; episode 2}

if you enjoyed yesterday's episode, you're going to fall in LOVE with today's episode, just like i did when i was editing them today. to tell the truth, the lighting i took them in (just at sunset) was the perfect lighting to take these in, and i considered not tweaking them at all.

summer vegetables

well, it's the end of summer (sad face), but the beginning of the crispness of autumn! although i will miss the warm feel of sun and the additional vitamin D it provides, windows down with my shades on, and the extra excuse to buy an ice cream cone "because it's summer", there are plenty of things to look forward to with fall approaching. in fact, today was, i believe, the first day that you could actually feel it in the air. that crisp, clean breeze that makes you want to pull out a cozy sweater and jeans, sip tea or cocoa, and sit and read a nice, long book. and (bonus!), there is the fact that the amazing colors are about to appear on the scene, especially here! i love bright colors anyways (just ask my friends or look at the clothes i wear on a daily basis), so these oranges, reds, and yellows, you can guess just make this girl happy. i will try not to think about the winter coming. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

so, anywho, there are a few photographs i will share with you today from my recent explorations outside of instagram.

the first is a photo of our pepper from the garden! doesn't it look delicious? well, it was :)

happy spring!

okay, so it might not feel very springlike out today here, but look what are peeking through the soil in the gardens across the area.
