keys

Keys. They're pretty great. I mean, if you didn't have your house keys, you'd be locked out of home sweet home. If you didn't have your car keys, you wouldn't be able to get to wherever you need to go. And if you didn't have the key to your heart, you'd never be able to give it away to that special someone.

Recently I've been getting into more crafts. I've always been into them, just ask my six year old, glue-covered handed self. The one who littered the kitchen table with orange and brown construction paper bits the time she made a tree picture (I never found out where that got to, but that was one of my first creations I was really proud of). So I've decided that in addition to posting photography on the blog, I'll let you glimpse into a little more of this girl's life, starting with the biggest trend right now: do it yourself projects. Sure, I'm a little late in letting the worldwide web know about it, but I've been adding to my Pinterest board for quite a while on this subject. So, after pinning and pinning and reorganizing those pins painstakingly, but loving every minute of it, I'm going back through and trying out all those ideas! Some work, some don't. One of today's projects is the glitter key. As much as I hate those girls who must have everything perfectly girly and feminine, I do have a secret love of the sparkly stuff. So, today, I unhooked all the keys from my key ring and girl-ified them. I decided to go the lazy way and just do glittery nail polish. Probably won't stay on there very long, but I'll try it for the time being.

Here's the photos, because what would be a Seven C's blog post without some photographic evidence?

you might think this shot is creepy. i like my eyes and i'm not saying that in a conceited sort of way, but i'm not.

day 68: party in the rain

Yesterday we had a party in the rain. And when I say rain, I don't mean, "oh my hair has those weird little droplets of mist in it". I mean, "crap! did i just fall in a swimming pool? cuz that's how wet my clothes are". Yep. But we still partied it out. In the pouring, you have to yell at the person sitting next to you to have a conversation rain.

day 59: the day i stayed at home

Thursday I was banned to not doing anything because of this foot "issue" I have going on. So I stayed in my jammies (which was quite lovely), drank tea, made myself this AMAZING grilled cheese and salami sandwich, and got pretty addicted to this Android game I found on the market since I was bored. "Garfield Food Invaders" I think it is called. Try it. You'll be addicted too. I even got my mom to play (just like she plays my drawsomething every once in awhile. also a fantastic game). So I took a pic of this gum I picked up at the store a few days before. How ridiculously cool is it that they make six packs of orbit now? I don't know about you, but this girl always forgets about her gum in the summer and it gets forced into a congealed mass of wintermint.

day 43: something i say every day

first off, my other famous words: i'm sorry. i'm sorry i haven't posted in a while. things have been busy! and then my account got hacked, so hopefully this will work.

anyways. the post. i have been taking my photo of the day, regardless. so here is last tuesday's. something i say every day. my mom and i both have this necklace, and when i wear it, i feel warm and fuzzy and happy. it reminds me that whatever goes wrong during the day, i'll always have that bond. sappy thought of the day! who knew you were getting that in addition to the photo of the day!

and i'm very proud of the way this one came out. hello, new computer background!

day 38: how i know

did you know that everlasting gobstoppers aren't really everlasting?? because if they really were, i'd still be sucking the one i popped in my mouth when i was seven. joke for the day.

day 33: something scary!

saturday was so slow at work, i drew red eyes on this pen topper, who someone had taken the eyes out of, and attached the speech bubble. quite alarming, if you ask me. but silly. this is what happens when i have nothing to do :(

day 25: delicious treats and an adventure down stairs

sorry i haven't posted. i have taken pictures each day, however, so today i am left with no other choice but to write five blog posts. *sigh*. OK. well, here goes...

Friday i went to visit my brother, Seapoint Internet Marketing's own Bill. or, as i know him, my ugly brother bill (this isn't actually true, it's just an old childhood saying, that i do believe he came up with)

as always, i chose Friday because Friday is the day you can get out of this world eclairs from the Beach Pea. If you've never been there, go. but go on a Friday or Saturday because those are the only days of the week that i believe you can purchase these heavenly creations. let me tell you, the pastry puff seems to be made from a cloud they are so puffy and delicious, and the inside is filled with a cream i could die eating, and makes my mouth water just thinking and typing this out. i have to be careful not to slobber on the computer's keyboard over here. and then, to top it off, they cover the top with a cap of chocolate and drizzle white chocolate on top! gasp! gasp! gasp!

anyways. this is the pastry case there. it's this girl's dream come true.

by the way, if you've never tried organic white pomegranite tea. you should.

day 11: something that smells good

also known as, my favorite smell in the whole wide WORLD. I bought this bottle like three years ago and it's almost to the bottom. well, i've got a little ways to go, but i'm still in love with this.

tomorrow i'm headed down to visit my Grampy so hopefully i'll post something other than the one object shots (aka a busy lifestyle) but you never know, so i'll keep you posted (pun intended). have a great day!

day 6: achievement

okay, okay, it might seem childish, but i'm putting my ribbons from when i was in primary and middle school writing contests up. i can't believe i still have them, and most people probably would have thrown them away, but i worked really hard for that first place ribbon! all the way until eighth grade, to be exact! the other "awards" are fake prizes we used to give each other in office cleaning.

Tuesday's Tree

I have an awesome shot (I think) for tomorrow, so stay tuned! Until then, I'm showing you Tuesday's Tree, as I like to call it. It's a beautiful day out today, and this is a shot from Saturday. But I'm posting it on Tuesday, so that's why it's Tuesday's Tree. So deal with it. I didn't have to tell you it wasn't actually shot on Tuesday :)

An update on how our quest for 5,000 views is going: as of my last checking (two seconds ago), we are at 3,914. So we need 1,086 views by May 10. Can we do it? Well, only you can know that.

the smile jar

I've always considered myself a pretty crafty girl. Just ask my mom. When I was little, I was constantly cutting little things out of paper and getting glue everywhere. I loved, and still do love, making things. I even used to (this is going to sound really quite gross) like the feel of peeling the layers of glue that I would get stuck to my fingertips. I got some weird satisfaction out of it. Like I was accomplishing something. Don't ask me.

Anywho. Last week I read this little article on a jar you could make. I don't remember what they called it, but I shall call mine the smile jar.

The article suggested that you write down every time something makes you really happy and deposit each slip into a big jar, which you then read on New Year's Eve. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't do the whole New Year's Eve thing. So I decided to make my own smile jar. I mean, I don't know about you, but I get down on myself a lot about things. Things I should have done, things I did that I wish I hadn't, and then, of course, the stressing over things in the future. And I thought, I could use a smile jar. I'm going to write down all the little things that make me happy when they happen, and then when I start feeling blue, I'll shake out a few of the colorful papers and read them, until I'm feeling all chipper again (for those of you who know the outer Audrey, you know she's a pretty chipper girl).

That's how I concocted the Smile Jar. I found a big Mason jar from my mother's pantry, one big enough to hold a year's worth of memories, cleaned it up, and thought of a few things over the last few days that have made this girl happy. I figure every time something makes me really laugh, smile, or just plain warm and fuzzy inside, I'll write it down, and the day it happened.

So meet the Smile Jar!
